According to the published report National Center for Biotechnology Information US mentions Little millet is a minor cereal crop  that contains several nutraceutical components. Ready To Cook (RTC) flakes of the millet exhibited higher total dietary fiber content (22.40 %) .One serving (30 g) of RTC flakes provided 2.25 g of protein, 0.13 g of fat, 0.13 g of total minerals, 9.67 mg of iron and zero trans fats. The flakes also possessed a medium Glycemic Index (GI) of 52.11 ranging from 41.57 to 61.80 among normal volunteers. Glycemic Load (GL) of the flakes was a low of 9.24.

  1. Roast one cup of Little Millet Semolina on a pan and keep aside.
  2. Take another pan and finely chopped vegetables with 2 tsp of oil ghee.
  3. Season with few curry leaves, 1 tsp of mustard seeds, ½ tsp of cumin seeds, along with 1 tsp chana dal and 1 tsp of urad dal.
  4. Add 2.5 cups water to this mixture. Add salt as required.
  5. When the water boils, lower the flame, then add the roasted semolina in 4 to 5 batches and mix well.
  6. Add 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves and stir well.

Serve the cooked hot Little Millet Upma and enjoy with chutney or pickle. Use this to replace Rice Semolina, Wheat Semolina in your cooking. Rest of the recipe remains same.
